$$$

One thing I really can't just buy on the spot are plane tickets. I don't know why. I seem to have not too bad of a problem when it comes to buying clothes, shoes, accessories. But when it comes to plane tickets for some reason I must think that if I just wait a few days the prices will magically go down. I don't understand myself on this, since obviously that is NOT the case. Plane tickets only go up, they never go down. Is there such thing as a "clearance sale" on plane tickets? (This one is not a rhetorical question, please leave a comment if you know the answer to this) But it's something about tying myself to those dates of leaving and coming that I can't commit to. Commitment issues, in a weird way? Maybe. I have to buy plane tickets for spring break which is in a month but I just can't get myself to buy them...plus, plane tickets are expensive. [note to self: buy tickets for spring break soon!!]

"마음 넓은 여자가 되자..."

마음 넓히는 일은 결코 쉬운 일이 아니다
구석 하나 하나씩 멀리, 더 멀리 넓힐 때 마다
아프고 또 아프다
마음을 넓히는 일은 결코 쉬운 일이 아니다
그래도 난, 마음 넓은 여자가 되고싶다...

we're all doing it

My pastor likes to say that "we are all evangelists." Granted, that the word evangelism is, by definition, connected to Christianity. If you take that part out of the equation, we are all persuading others about something. We are all identifying ourselves as a follower of a certain something. This computer that I am typing away at, has a huge apple on the front. Everyone who sees me, will know I am a Mac user (And very proud of it, may I add). Another example, last week in my visual communications class my professor decided she would not come. Instead, she made us watch a hour and a half documentary about the font Helvetica. (I apologize for those who have already heard me talk about this.) The point is, at the time I hated it because I couldn't believe someone would actually watch a video about a FONT. What else is there really to say about a font? However, as I watched this video it made me realize just how many places in our every day lives that this font is used. In my surprise of this realization, I began to tell everyone I knew about it. I told it to my roomate, to the people that I carpooled up to Tahoe with, the other sg leaders, the list goes on. As we were driving I kept pointing out all the places that I found it. Then they started noticing it all around them too. That's how word spreads, that's how evangelism happens. As he usually is, my pastor was right. We're all doing it, I guess the question is...what is your evangelism about?
I hope that one day you will have the experience of doing something you do not understand for someone you love.
